I’ll never forget the moment I first saw her – my very first gorgeous Kenyan lioness in the Wild!

As a young girl, I was absolutely enchanted by Elsa the lioness on television’s “Born Free”. I dreamed that one day I would travel to Kenya myself, and see the wonderful creatures first hand.

Then, so many years later, to even be in Africa at all seemed like an impossible dream, let alone going specifically to Kenya and experiencing the incredible wildlife first hand.

Yet, here I was, with a real live lioness lounging in the Kenyan savannah a mere 5 yards from our LandRover. My eyes grew huge as she got up and stretched, then walked straight toward us! I held my breathe as she turned just slightly to walk just behind our vehicle, disappearing into the tall grass on the other side.

That was the moment that made it all worthwhile: the planning, the research, the long flights, the hard-earned dollars. That lioness helped me realize – this is what true adventure is all about. And sharing it with my loved one — all the better!
